X-Ray Imaging

X-ray scans produce intricate visuals of internal bodily structures like bones, organs, and tissues, utilising minimal electromagnetic radiation exposure. This non-invasive technique swiftly evaluates various medical conditions without the need for invasive procedures or exposure to chemicals.

Before:

  • Remove jewellery, eyeglasses, and any metal objects as they can appear on the X-ray.
  • Female patients should inform the X-ray staff if they are pregnant or suspect they might be.

During:

  • A radiographer positions your body for the necessary views, sometimes using pillows for support.
  • Remain still during the X-ray exposure, and you may be asked to hold your breath to prevent blurring of the image.
  • The duration of the X-ray procedure varies, typically taking 5 to 10 minutes for a simple X-ray or longer for exams involving multiple regions.

After:

  • You may resume normal activities.
