Pre-Screening:

Fasting: We respectfully request that you refrain from consuming any food or beverages for 8 hours preceding your scheduled appointment. Plain water is acceptable. All prescribed medications may be continued, with the sole exception of anti-diabetic medication.

If you are feeling unwell on the day of your screening, we will assist you to reschedule your appointment at your convenience. This is because overall fitness and medication such as antibiotics may affect your screening results.

The entire screening process may take up to 2 hours, depending on the package selected.

Women are advised to undergo Thin Prep, HPV, Female Hormone Profile, urine and stool test 1 week after their menstruation cycle.

Day Of Appointment:

Please bring along the following:

  1. Identification: For verification and registration purposes, kindly present a valid form of identification (e.g., NRIC, passport, or staff pass).
  2. Visual Aids: Should you utilise visual aids such as eyeglasses or contact lenses, please ensure they are brought to your appointment.
  3. Medical Records: all pertinent past medical reports, scan results, and a comprehensive list of your current medications

Urine Collection

  • Clean your hands thoroughly and use tissue paper to wipe your genital area.
  • Hold the sterile container without touching the inside.
  • Start urinating into the toilet bowl. After a few seconds, while continuing urination, position the specimen bottle in the urine stream to collect urine directly until it is half-full.
  • Securely fasten the cap onto the sterile container and place it in the provided biohazard bag.

Stool Collection:

  • Prior to Collection
Please collect the specimen either the evening before or on the morning of your visit to drop it off at our clinic.

Empty your bladder before commencing the stool collection. This essential step prevents any inadvertent commingling with urine, ensuring the integrity of your specimen.

  • Collection
For an unblemished specimen, we advise positioning a clean tissue gently across the front inner rim of the toilet bowl. Deposit your stool onto this tissue.
  • Transferring with Care
Unseal the stool container. Utilising the sampling spoon integrated into the lid, collect a single scoop of stool. Should your specimen present any notable features, such as mucus or blood, please ensure these are included.
  • Securing Your Sample
Upon collection, securely close the container's lid. Place it within the provided biohazard bag and seal it with care. Your specimen should be maintained at room temperature.
Post-Screening:

  • Results will usually be ready in 72 hours or more, contingent on which tests you have undergone.
  • We will schedule an appointment for a one-on-one review with our physician, who will go over your results and offer personalised recommendations tailored to your requirements.

Health screenings typically operate on a self-pay and claim basis, where applicable. Your health screening or imaging test (s) may be covered or be eligible for corporate rates through insurance or corporate agreements. Please consult your company's HR department or insurance provider for further details.

Do not eat or drink anything except water for 8 hours before the test (except for Osteoporosis Package).

Please take your usual medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

HbA1C is a diagnostic tool for diabetes, offering information on blood glucose control over the past three months by measuring sugar molecules attached to red blood cells. Additionally, a non-fasting random blood glucose test is performed. It is important to recognise that the normal range for random blood glucose differs from that of fasting blood glucose.

If there are abnormal results in the random blood glucose or HbA1C tests, a fasting blood glucose test may be required to confirm a diagnosis of diabetes or prediabetes.

Risk category assignment – What are the risk factors for disease?
Early disease assessment – Do you exhibit any of the early warning signs or symptoms of disease?
Modifiable disease contributor assessment – Which of the risk factors can be improved with lifestyle changes?

You are advised to conduct your medical check up 2 weeks after any vaccination.

If you have recently received the COVID-19 vaccination, you are advised to schedule your mammogram or breast ultrasound appointment at least 6 weeks after receiving the vaccination.

You do not have to delay your health screening check up because of a recent infection.

Blood tests: Some inflammatory markers may be elevated after an infection and the results can be read in the context of a recent infection.

Complications from a COVID-19 infection may also be detected and should be followed up. High sensitivity CRP for cardiac risk stratification would not be suitable for those who have had COVID-19 in the last 1 month.

Chest X-ray: May show infective changes when done after a recent COVID-19 infection and abnormalities should be followed up.

It is not advisable to do health screening if you are pregnant as your gynaecologist would have conducted the necessary prenatal screening for you.

During pregnancy:

  • Urea and uric acid will decrease during the 1st trimester.
  • By the 2nd trimester, the albumin, potassium, protein and sodium level will decrease while the creatinine level increases.
  • Glucose and cholesterol levels will increase, contributing to a risk of gestational diabetes, which can increase the risk of developing high blood pressure, such as preeclampsia.

Hence, results will not be accurately presented.
